Nanki Nezulne (Our Two Spirits), Carrier Sekani Family Services
Summary
CSFS Nanki Nezulne (Our Two Spirits) offers individual and group counselling to adults that are 18+ and self-identify as LGBTQ2+ and/or additional gender and sexual identities. Health and wellness services target the specific challenges that LGBTQ2+ individuals may be faced with, including but not excluded to, the exploration of one’s gender and sexual identities, coming out, stigma, lack of acceptance by friends, family and community, isolation, and healthy relationships. Counselling services may also address social factors such as mental health, substance use, harassment and discrimination, poverty and health services. The goal of Nanki Nezulne is to create safe queer spaces to discuss, share and work through LGBTQ2+ specific challenges. Counselling referrals are accepted by both agency and self-referral.
CSFS Nanki Nezulne (Our Two Spirit) is offered entirely ONLINE where clients can access FREE counselling services from the comfort of their home. We serve indigenous individuals, more specifically, those that reside among the 11-membered nations of the Carrier and Sekani Territories in Northern British Columbia. However, we do also accept referrals from additional self-identified indigenous BC residents.
